About the Williamson County Art Guild

Since September, 1976, folks in Williamson County have embraced fine art as a way of life. Founded by Steve Benton and Sheila Crabill, the Art Guild has been promoting art education and art events for over a quarter century.

A nonprofit organization governed by a volunteer board elected annually, the Williamson County Art Guild (WCAG) provides members and the public with information about a wide range of art subjects designed to inspire and produce opportunities for creative involvement and artistic development.

Offering art shows, exhibits, programs, classes and scholarships, the WCAG currently operates a gallery in The Framers Gallery at 610 S Main Street, just north of the Courthouse Square in Georgetown, Texas, seat of Williamson County.

WCAG Scholarship

The Williamson County Art Guild awards scholarships to graduating seniors at Williamson County High Schools. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of talent, to students who will be pursuing art studies at an institution of higher learning.

Guild members provide;

• Programs of information for appreciation, training and development of art and art culture. Monthly meetings are free and open to the public.
• Scholarships that are awarded to High School Students each year.
• Support offered to schools who need outside artists to teach and demonstrate art.
• Teachers that work with the W.S. Lott Center and the Williamson County Academy.
• Plan and give art show in Williamson County.
• The Guild participates in events on the square: Red Poppy Festival, Christmas Stroll, First Friday and other events.
• Artist from the Guild help to make the downtown interesting and inviting to visitors by painting window and walls.
• The Guild foster teaching programs that further the arts.
• All Volunteer (No paid staff)
