It’s about color. And the effect of light and shadow. And spontaneity, but primarily color. These concerns are applicable to all subjects—portraits, florals, animals of every stripe and spot. Perhaps tigers have always wanted to have purple stripes. Or young ladies with sea green hair that is swimming with golden fish. Landscapes, seascapes, still lifes. Everything seems reducible to patterns in color. Some minutely detailed, some merely hinted at, but all colorful. My preferred medium is oil, but I have done murals in acrylic and outside-on-a-building geckos and a dragon fly in exterior enamel. In art, learning is continuous. Every painting, every workshop, every class and teacher contribute. I have studied with George Gonzalez and Jeannine Campbell in Texas, and B. J. Wilson, Frank Tauriello and Vincent Farrell in California. I have a degree in Applied Design and Visual Arts from University of Houston, Clear Lake. I participated in organizing the Mission Viejo Association of Artists and Craftsmen and served as its president. I have worked on numerous commissions. My paintings are in private collections across the United States, in Europe, Mexico and the Middle East. Art is a life long love of mine, continuously evolving, ever exciting, and always enjoyable.
