Georgetown artist Kristine Kainer is an East Coast native who earned her B.A. from The College of William and Mary and her M.Ed. from George Mason University. While teaching mathematics, Kainer began painting in 2005 for fun. With the encouragement of family, friends, and students, she devoted herself full-time to her new endeavor, specializing in oils, acrylics, and charcoal. Her paintings have been seen in locally, including the official 2009 Red Poppy Festival poster and courthouse festival banners, the 2009-2010 Palace Theatre playbill cover, and the Chisholm Trail banner project. Kainer is actively involved in the Daily Painters movement and is a juried member of the Artists of Texas. Additionally, she is a member of both the Williamson County Art Guild and the Art Guild of Rural Texas where she provides summer art instruction to children and young adults. Her works are in both private and public collections throughout the United States, Canada, and France. They may be viewed locally at the Framers Gallery (Georgetown), her official website and blog, Facebook, Twitter, eBay and Etsy. Giclees and prints are available through Fine Art America.
