I was raised in New Jersey, just east of Philadelphia, where I became an avid sail
boat racer and still maintain interest in this sport. A B-25 and B-26 pilot was my forte in
the mid-40s and then completed my formal education as a chemical engineer and researcher for G/E and Westinghouse.
I turned to water colors and acrylic painting as an avocation, exposing myself to as many
workshops as time would allow. Once I retired in 1990, I became serious about painting. Collectors from the East and West Coast and also here in Texas have purchased and display my wares.
I think the arts are under appreciated in our materialistic society, yet it is through the
doing and appreciation of all the arts that we become truly human. My sketchbook is ulging with subjects and scenes from my travels in Europe, China, Australia, the Caribbean, and even Alaska and most of the other 49 states.
My paintings spring from my drawings sketched by an engineer, not a camera. All lines in a given structure must have a common vanishing point either on the canvas or at some predetermined point distant from the canvas. Oblique views of structures are necessary to give realism to a painting.
They are harder to draw; but, notice how much more interest is created instead of a straight on, eye level view of the building. Come, enjoy my paintings and let them become part of your environment.
